Gina Sheeks

Dr. Gina Sheeks, Associate Professor of Communication, is Vice President for Student Affairs at Columbus State University. Gina earned her B.S. in Journalism/Public Relations and her M.S. in Organizational Communication from Murray State University. She earned her doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration within the Department of Educational Policy Studies at Georgia State University.

Gina is a member of the National Communication Association, the Georgia Communication Association, the Southern Association for College Student Affairs, and the Georgia American Council on Education-ACE Network. Her research interests include organizational socialization, issues related to part-time faculty, service learning and experiential education, and the field of public relations.

Gina currently serves as the co-advisor for the Student Government Association at Columbus State and serves on numerous institutional committees. She recently chaired the 2006-2011 Strategic Planning Commission for CSU and is currently chair of the SACS Quality Enhancement Plan Development Committee. Gina enjoys serving as a volunteer with numerous organizations within the Columbus community.
